ERAP appeals to give him another chance

After vindicated from his ouster and plunder case through executive clemency of GMA, Erap yesterday appealed to the Filipino people to give him another chance. I am getting a chilling corkscrew in my mind. So many questions rotating in my mind that I wanted to blow my horn. This is incredulous.

This is the last performance of my life and I will not fail you, the former president told a cheering crowd in Tondo, Manila, where he announced his plan to run in the 2010 elections, with Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay as his running mate. In 1998 inauguration, he promised the Filipino people that he’ll deliver the greatest performance of his life. Same political pitch, same political slogan. What happened? The greatest performance of his life that we could recall was his being ousted as the President of the Republic of the Philippines. He was guilty and scared when Gov Chavit Singson exposed his anomalies and corruption that he immediately tendered a resignation leaving the seat to Pres. Arroyo- accidental President in the making. What happened to our country? Wallowing in quagmire of poverty. Wallowing in graft and corruption. Wallowing in great debts.

The sentiments of the Filipino people might be different from mine. I might be glittering generalities but sonofgun, do we not learn our lesson for the past years? We have been slave of foreign countries because we cannot put our economy in place while our political leaders are amassing astronomical amount of money in the expense of the Filipinos by paying taxes. What are they doing in House of Congress and House of Senate? Fault-finding expedition. Point each finger to one another as to who is the culprit of the crime. No one, not anyone of them admitted corruption that they made. Hypocrites!! Shame on you people shouting in front of us your platform of government during political campaign. Then when you sit on your throne, you cannot implement one of them. They are all promises and lapsus lengua (slip on the tongue) to gain votes.

Back to Erap Estrada, he announced his tentative senatorial slate: his son Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, Ilocos Norte Gov. Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Makati Rep. Teodoro Locsin Jr., ZTE scandal whistle-blower Joey de Venecia, detained rebel leader Danny Lim, Aquilino Koko Pimentel III and Ompong Plaza. Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago is a guest candidate.

Election is our suffrage to exercise our right to vote. I only hope that Filipino people are intelligent enough to choose a leader who has the political will to change the image of our country and to make this nation great again.

Election of the voters depends on us…….who is the most better candidate, follow your conscience. Shall we give again Erap Estrada a chance to be our President? Shall we suffer again the same consequences in his hands and his cronies? Again follow your conscience.
