BAYAW gets X from MTCRB



Bayaw Movie starring Paolo Rivero and Janvier Daily get an "X" rating from the fangs of MTCRB on August 27 review because of the frontal nude scenes which is not suitable for young audience. This is again submitted for another review today, September 1. The film was produced by Climax Film and directed by Monti Parungao. This will be shown in two theaters on September 2, 2009.

The uncut version of Bayaw was shown last July 21 during the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival. The film was privileged to be shortlisted by the Cinemalaya screening committee to take part in the first Cinemalaya-NETPAC World Cinema competition to be judged by a panel of jurors from across the region. The Cinemalaya-NETPAC World Cinema competition is a sidebar competition formed by CCP to cater to independent producers who will premiere their films during the festival. This is a separate category from the 10 full-length entries that were granted funding by the Cinemalaya organization. The story is about the bond of two brothers-in-law who lives were changed after the death of Nilo(Paolo Rivero) accidentally kills his wife. Rhennan (Janvier Daily) witnessed the accident and both decided to run from law.
